In this economics webinar, learn how to introduce concepts like earning and investing by way of interesting fictional characters.

Description

Teachers will be able to:

  • Learn how to introduce the concepts of saving, spending, earning and investing.
  • Gain knowledge of children’s books featuring personal finance concepts
  • Use the presented lessons and activities immediately in their classroom instruction.

Learning about financial literacy is more fun and accessible when a character in a children’s book is experiencing relatable situations and facing similar making decisions dilemmas.

Classic titles such as “Uncle Jed’s Barber Shop” by Margaree Mitchell and newer titles like “Spend It!” by Cinders McLeod and “Rock, Brock and the Savings Shock” by Sheila Bair will be featured. Lessons, activities and a topical bibliography will be provided.

This webinar is brought to you by the Council for Economic Education via EconEdLink.
