The Personal Finance Challenge is a $mart Indiana Program. $mart Indiana is a project of the Indiana Council for Economic Education presented in partnership with the Office of the Indiana Secretary of State

What Is the Indiana Personal Finance Challenge?   
The Indiana Personal Finance Challenge (IPFC) is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge of personal finance by competing against students from across the state.

Cost: No Registration Fee!

Who Can Compete?  
The competition is open to students in grades 6-12. Students in grades 6-8 compete in the Middle School Division (ONLINE ONLY). Students in grades 9-12 compete in the High School Division (ONLINE Test and Case Study Analysis).


Prizes
T-shirts are awarded to the highest scoring 4 students from each competing school.

1st Place Indiana State Champions

  • $50 gift card for each divisional team member/teacher/coach.
  • State Championship plaque for both divisional winners

2nd - 5th Places

  • $5 gift card for each divisional team member/ teacher/coach

 

How It Works

  1. Register Students - January 31 to April 17
  2. Take the Online Test - February 17 to April 17
  3. Case Study Analysis Due - April 17
  4. National Finals ONLINE - May 4

  1. Go to http://financechallenge.unl.edu and click on Indiana.
  2. BE SURE TO READ, “THE RULES.”
  3. Register as a teacher/coach. After you have registered as a teacher/coach, you’ll receive authorization to begin creating your online team(s) of 4 students (be sure to select the appropriate division - middle school or high school).
