Workshop Description: Attention K-3 Grade Teachers:

The IUPUI Center for Economic Education invites you to attend a professional development program on February 23, 2017 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Central Indiana Educational Service Center. Learn from an experienced classroom teacher on how easy it is to teach economics while meeting your reading and writing standards - using literacy stations and much more!

The Furry Friends Economics workshop focuses on an engaging way to teach economics and financial literacy to the youngest students...by introducing them to books featuring animals! Your students will learn all about goods and services, opportunity cost, productive resources, and economic wants. The workshop will feature hands-on lesson demonstrations from Betty Bunny Wants Everything, Beatrice’s Goat, What Pet Should I Get?, A New Coat for Anna, Clever Cat, Fleas, and The Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf.

Each teacher participant will receive ready to use lessons and at least one of the books featured at the workshop. Professional Growth Plan points will be awarded plus dinner will be provided!

Please register by February 20 by clicking on "Register Now" below.
