Inflation Data: Is the Economy Healthy? This lesson focuses specifically on inflation data provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and available on the St. Louis Fedís FRED data website. Students will learn what the Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures, what an inflation rate is, and then conduct an analysis of the current inflation rate relative to the Federal Reserveís inflation target to make an assessment of the current economyís health.
