Workshop Description: The Council for Economic Education, NY, is pleased to offer free professional development webinars for teachers nationwide. The webinars cover multiple topics on how to integrate personal finance and economics in the classroom and create a fun learning experience for your students.

Stretch the limits of your students’ thinking beyond planet earth as we answer the question: Who should pay for asteroid defense? In this fun webinar, we examine asteroid defense as a thought-provoking example of a public good. We’ll show how to use video and other enriching media to teach topics like: public goods, the free-rider problem, private goods, club goods, and tragedy of the commons.

Session Presenter: Greg Caskey teaches Historical Economics at the Delaware Military Academy, located in Wilmington, Delaware. A graduate of the Masters in Economics & Entrepreneurship for Educators program at the University of Delaware, Greg is the founder of HipHoponomics, which is the marriage of economics and hip-hop designed to creatively engage students on matters of rigorous economics content.

When you attend the webinar, you will leave with relevant lessons, resources and tools that can be implemented the next day. If you are interested, but cannot attend the live webinar, please register to get access to the archived version.
