Workshop Description: Attention Teachers of Grades 3 through 5:

Make history relevant for your students! Join the IUPUI Center for Economic Education for Teaching History and Economics Through Reading: Grade 3-5 on December 13, 2018 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Central Indiana Educational Service Center in Indianapolis.

Books based on historical events are a perfect way to emphasize that economic and financial literacy concepts like choices, saving, scarcity, specialization, productivity, and entrepreneurship were just as important in the past as they are today. Hands-on lessons will be demonstrated from books such as Uncle Jed’s Barbershop, Ruth and the Green Book, A Full Hand, Nine for California, Dandelions, Potato: A Tale from the Great Depression, and more!

Participants will receive:

  • At least one of the books featureed in the workshop
