Workshop Description: Attention: Middle and High School Teachers:

The Purdue Center for Economic Education is hosting a professional development series entitled, "EconVersations." You won't want to miss the upcoming Economics of Health Insurance and Health Care Reform program on October 2, 2019 from 5:15 pm to 7:30 pm at MCL Restaurant and Bakery, 521 Sagamore Pkwy W., West Lafayette, IN 47906.

Dr. Tim Moore, Director of the Purdue Center for Economic Education and an Associate Professor of Economics at Purdue, teaches health economics and conducts research into related topics, including how income affects health, disability insurance, and the economics of illicit drug markets.

Dr. Kelly Blanchard, Associate Director of Purdue Center for Economic Education and Lecturer in the economics department, will give an overview of classroom applications that focus on the economics of insurance markets. Interactive activities and games will highlight the challenges inherent in insurance markets.

EconVersations is a dinner and workshop series for middle and high school teachers and administrators. This program will help teachers learn about economic concepts that help to explain why people value health insurance, the challenges involved in providing health insurance, and what has been going on in health care reform. Lessons and resources will be provided to assist with translating this information to the classroom. Two PGPs will be provided.
